Hi,
I have acrium Reflect v5.0 Professional Edition
I have notified by with an e-mail::::

Dear customer,

We are really grateful for your continued support of Macrium Reflect and we would like to offer you a 20% discount on purchases of additional licences.

Our image based backup and disaster recovery solutions have taken another big step forward in speed, simplicity and power. Our entire focus is helping you protect your data and systems, without fuss and budget breaking costs

Macrium Reflect Version 6 includes the following features:

•WinPE 10 rescue environment
•Rapid Delta Restore (RDR)
•Rapid Delta Clone (RDC)
•Delta Incremental Indexing
•Template or Custom backup plans
•Incrementals forever

20% off Macrium Reflect!
Please use this coupon in the next seven days to receive 20% discount on all purchases of additional licenses

My questions are ::
1- So, you think only Reflect v6 is compatible with Windows 10?

2- do you think this is a good discount of paying new V6, and even upgrading V5 into V6(since I will save 50% plus %20 of the total retail price of V6 over upgrading from 5 to 6) is a special offer which cannot be available again.

--------------------------------------
Although it is out of topic, I am respectfully requesting you to take some of precious time out to address this matter. Could you please do as many details as you can to let the matter clear and finish it forever.

I was told that"upgrade price should be '0.25' * '69.95', which equals '$17.4875" is not correct. However, The discount is Off (not Of) the retail price:
Retail price - 25%
Retail Price - 50%
The words Of and Off are not the same in English. If you have seen contradictory information on our web site can you please provide a link?

I really have always been told that deposit interest rate to be paid by commercial or similar banks for savings deposits can be, for example, 20% of the amount deposited in a deposit account. So, the interest rate = total amount deposited * deposit interest rate percentage.

For instance, I have $3000 deposited in my deposit account. So, the deposit interest rate would be calculated by the following calculation: The percentage amount paid to me by a bank when I keep money in an account there * the entire amount deposited(money kept in an account there). For instance, if the the entire amount deposited is $3000 and the interest rate: is 20%
So, deposit interest rate = 3000 * 0.20 = 600.

Firstly: If I use this way of calculating deposit interest rate which is clear for me and I am familiar with, although the Macrium prices seem as though they were impossible, then the result would be::
: As long as Upgrade - Macrium Reflect v5 Professional to v6 Home Edition - Save 50%, and the the retail price of V6 is (69.95).
So, using the way of calculating deposit interest rate for calculating the price of upgrade, I found:

- If the upgrade Macrium Reflect v5 Professional to v6 Home Edition was 'Save 50% , the upgrade = the retail price of V6 (69.95) * the 50% discount = 69.95 * 0.50 =34.975
- If the upgrade Macrium Reflect v5 Professional to v6 Home Edition was 'Save 20%', the upgrade = the retail price of V6 (69.95) * the 20% discount = 69.95 * 0.20 = 13.99.

Secondly: I have received a notifying of discount of 20% to my e-mail associated with my V5 of Macrium Reflect.
So, I would make the same calculation for calculating the price of upgrade, and v6:
I know that ::: The retail price of the Macrium Reflect V6 is US$ 69.95. The retail price of Upgrading from Macrium Reflect v5.0 Professional Edition to V6 is US$ 34.95.
With using this coupon 6PZ-5MW-P2R, which gave me a 20% discount on purchases of additional licences.

With using the way of calculating deposit interest rate, the result would be:

- The retail price of Macrium Reflect 6 Home Edition = (69.95) * the 20% discount = 69.95 * 0.20 = 13.99.

- The upgrade retail price from Macrium Reflect v5.0 Professional Edition to v6 Home Edition - 'Save 50%' = The Retail price of 6 Home Edition(69.95) * 50% discount = 69.95*0.50 = 34.975.
Also, if I use the coupon 6PZ-5MW-P2R, which gave me a 20% discount of the upgrade retail price , then 34.975 * .20 = 6.995

Finally: However, I was told another different than the way of calculating deposit interest rate which I am familiar with:
The discount is Off (not Of) the retail price:
Retail price - 25%
Retail Price - 50%

Does it mean with::
25% is subtracted from 'Retail price'
50% is subtracted from 'Retail price'
So, Where is the 'retail price'?
Or it means:
Upgrade Discount of 25% off the retail price = Retail price - 25% = ($US69.95) - 0.25 =
Upgrade Discount of 50% off retail price: = Retail Price - 50% = ($US69.95)

If we use this way (This calculation is strange confused for me, although this calculation gave the correct mounts of Macrium prices(Screen shot above.):

- The retail price of Macrium Reflect 6 Home Edition = (69.95) * the 20% discount = 69.95 - (discount 69.95*0.20= 13.99) = 69.95 - 13.99 = 55.96.

- The Retail price of of Upgrading from Macrium Reflect v5.0 Professional Edition to 6 Home Edition = 34.975- (a 20% discount = 34.975*0.20 = 6.995)= 34.975- 6.995= 27.98.

Hi A cooperator,

Thanks for posting.

Reflect v5 and v6 both work well on Windows 10. With Reflect v6 you also get support for building the rescue media that is based on the version of WindowsPE that Microsoft has released for Windows 10.

Please feel free to contact our sales team to discuss your discount and price queries in depth.

When dealing with terms like "discount" it is generally understood to mean OFF of the retail price.

So the statement: 20% discount means take the retail price, calculate 20% of this price then SUBTRACT that amount from the retail price to get the new, discounted price.

EXAMPLE:
retail price= $100
20% of price= $20

discounted price = $100-$20= $80.

If it was meant that the discounted price be $20 then it would have said an 80% discount.

ALSO, when applying a discount to a discount, it is understood that the 2nd discount is applied to the RESULT of the first discount NOT to the original price.

EXAMPLE:
retail price= $100
50% of price= $50
discounted price = $100-$50= $50.

Taking and ADDITIONAL 20% would be:

20% of the discounted price= 20% of $50=$10

NEW discount price = $50-$10=$40.

Price discounts are NOT banking. The above is how they are understood to work by most, but apparently not all, people. While this may not seem logical or familiar to you, this is MARKETING and in that venue the job is often to make something look more attractive than it really is. Playing with math and percentages is often one way to do this.

Rather than expecting the rest of the world to change to what you consider logical, if you want to interact with the rest of the world you will have to adjust to the way they operate. Now that it has been explained (hopefully) you can effectively participate without further confusion. However you are welcome to try and get the rest of the world to change to your way of doing things. While not easy, it can be done.

Thanks a lot, for your great explanation.
