With all the cryptolocker viruses out there I would like to be able schedule a backup that can mount a usb drive, backup to it, and then dismount the usb drive. For added security, also have a way for the drive to be prevented from getting mounted as a drive by any possible virus and only be able to be mounted with a password which only the backup scheduler and myself would know.

Thanks StephenG,

I was able to do everything using a single MS-DOS batch file. The following example mounting scripts can be found here http://superuser.com/questions/704870/mount-and-dismount-hard-drive-through-a-script-software

Hi Erics8,

Thanks for posting and welcome to the forum.

You should be able to accomplish this by using VBScript. Creating advanced scripts is slightly beyond our support remit however if you make a script we may be able to offer some help and our other forum members may also offer advice.

Kind regards
