I had a files backup that I needed to backup all the sub folders in a folder except for one. There were way too many sub folders to individually add each folder one at a time to the job. So, I tried added the folder name and \*.* to Exclude. I used Calculate to see if the sizes reflect that folder wasn't included as that folder had gigabytes of files I didn't want backed up in that set. The backup still included the Excluded folder. So, I changed the Exclude to include the full drive letter and path along with \*.* and it still didn't exclude the folder. So, this obviously means that individual folders cannot be selected for Exclude.

So, please add folder exclusion to Exclude. Or create some kind of GUI interface to the file backup selection so you select or deselect folders from the backup.

I'm such an idiot! There's an option right there in front of me I overlooked called Folder Exclusion Mask.

Sorry about that.

In my defense I have been battling a cold since Sunday.

Oh, don't add it with \*.*? Because that's what I did. Put in the Exclude SubFolder\*.*

Actually, that makes sense. Because Exclude apparently already adds masks to the end. So, I'd basically be saying bad syntax by excluding SubFolder\*.**.*

Hi

To exclude a sub-Folder, just add the sub-folder name in the exclude list:

eg;

temp

OR

*temp

or temp*

Kind regards
