I purchased the 4 Pack Professional Home use and recently discovered that a few things I need are not support by Macrium. I am unable to create a disk image of USB Flash drives or SDCards attached to the system. I have a Windows 8.1 tablet (NON-RT) that due to limit space I install applications onto the MicroSD card. I also have a full size laptop with a small SSD drive, so I install applications and data to the SDCard. I am also unable to split an image an already created disk image. How do I image a USB Device or Split a completed disk image with Macrium Pro?

Thanks

Hi Smitty870,

Thanks for posting.

We are looking into adding support for imaging SDCards and USB storage devices for our next major release.

Kind regards

Why are these devices not supported? Other drive backup imaging applications offer these features in their free versions.

Hi Smitty870,

Thanks for posting.

Imaging memory cards and USB drives is not supported due to the drive geometry limitations of the devices. Splitting a completed disk images is not supported. However you can set a file size for your images. (an image will be split into files of this size)

http://www.macrium.com/help/v5/Other_tasks/Defaults_dialogue/Backup/File_Size.htm

You can use a file and folder backup to backup the data on these devices.

Kind regards

Stephen - Macrium Support
