Can 64bit Reflect mount an image made by 32 bit Reflect?
The scenario hypothesized here is 64bit Reflect, say on Windows 8.1 or soon-to-come 9, mounting an image made by 32bit Reflect on Windows Vista to copy over data files to a new system.
For what it's worth, I have read Grover's Post earlier this month: I have converted my four systems to Macrium Reflect from Acronis during the past year, first the Free version and finally the Professional. As Grover, I just moved one system from a mechanical HD to an SSD via image restore rather than cloning. I have also done two system recoveries due to software conflicts. Reflect has performed flawlessly.
But my relief from leaving Acronis behind — so far — is the stable interface design and the ability of Reflect to update itself without drama or trauma. Acronis was such a diva in this respect!
Anyway, thanks in advance for pointers on the question above.

P.S. Reflect's ability to straightforwardly build a bootable USB flash drive with WinPE running its Rescue Media is a superb feature. |

Short answer: Yes.
Reflect's "bitness" as such is not an issue for its backup imaging results, neither under a primary Windows OS, nor under a "rescue media" set-up. So long as Reflect runs in an environment with whatever driver support is required for it to access all source and destination locations it will, regardless of environmental "bitness", produce a backup image that is fully compatible with other Reflect operations meeting those same accessibility conditions.

__ P.S.: Welcome aboard from a fellow former user of other backup software. There are many of us here and you certainly won't regret the decision. |
