Hi,
first, sorry for my very bad english but i hope, you know what i mean :)
My problem: I want to set the backup location to my WHS 2011 Server. The first full backup runs fine to the network folder but when i want to make scheduled backups, it doenst work. Every time i get this error: Backup aborted! - None of the specified backup locations could be written to Validating location: \\HEIMSERVER\Backup\Macrium\ToshibaSSD\ - Invalid
When i delete the scheduled job and make n new one with the same path"\\HEIMSERVER\Backup\Macrium\ToshibaSSD\" the first full back runs fine again but not the scheduled. So i make this path as a Network volume but Macrium doenst see the Volume . The user name and password for the server is correct.
Please can you help me?
My config: Client PC with Windows 8.1 Update 1 Server PC Windows Home Server 2011 Latest Macrium 5.3 |

Welcome to the Reflect forum.
Your issue sounds like a permissions/user issue. What user is specified in the scheduled backup? Is that YOUR user ID? If not, that user may not have the proper privilege's to access the drive being used for backup on the networked computer. Also what kind of drive is being used. Is it a drive internal to that computer or some external drive that may be powered down (or in a sleep mode) at the time of the backup? I do scheduled backups from workstations on a network to an external USB connected to the server and it works well. So Reflect CAN do what you want once you find out what is causing the error.

Hi,
so, i solved the problem. Thanks Nick but i found this before and i fill out my username and password as same as in the scheduled backup script. The problem (i think) was the path. I delete the old script and make a new one, but now, i cant use my old path on server. When i use ""\\HEIMSERVER\Backup\Macrium\ToshibaSSD\"" i got a error to use a existing path, but the path is correct and permissions also OK! So i shorten the path to "\\HEIMSERVER\Backup" and now it worked . Dont know why i cant use the longer path but so it also OK. |

You may also want to try using the IP address instead of the name of the server - for example \\192.168.1.50\Backup\Macrium\ToshibaSSD. I have had numerous problems using the server name which were solved when I used the IP address instead. |
