Hi,

I can't seem to access my backup from a network location or a mapped drive.

The mapped drive is not seen at all.
The network location is not accessible.

I have added my network logon credientials in the settings area (Edit Defaults). (This allowed me to access the network share originally to backup to this location.)

Now I can't access the network share to restore from it. I get the message
"Network Error: Windows cannot access \\Diskstation" . I'm using a Synology NAS for the backup location (which has a network shared folder).

I can see the Network location in the Windows Explorer (Network > Diskstation) and when asking to select an image or backup file screen. Just can't access it.

Any suggestions?

Hi seadynamic8,

Thanks for posting.

Please read the below knowledge base article to troubleshoot your network share issue.

http://kb.macrium.com/KnowledgebaseArticle50208.aspx

Please also make sure you are accessing the share as follows "\\Diskstation\share-name" Replace share-name with the name of your share.

Kind regards

The first solution, using the UNC path is what I had been doing. That is what caused the network error message of not being accessible. (I had used \\Diskstation and \\Diskstation\Share-name as well, both didn't work).

While I don't prefer to edit the registry, I guess there was no way around not doing so.

Anyways, I edited my registry and both the network share is now accessible and the mapped drive is visible and accessible as well.

Thank you.
