I can't seem to access my backup from a network location or a mapped drive.
The mapped drive is not seen at all. The network location is not accessible.
I have added my network logon credientials in the settings area (Edit Defaults). (This allowed me to access the network share originally to backup to this location.)
Now I can't access the network share to restore from it. I get the message "Network Error: Windows cannot access \\Diskstation" . I'm using a Synology NAS for the backup location (which has a network shared folder).
I can see the Network location in the Windows Explorer (Network > Diskstation) and when asking to select an image or backup file screen. Just can't access it.
The first solution, using the UNC path is what I had been doing. That is what caused the network error message of not being accessible. (I had used \\Diskstation and \\Diskstation\Share-name as well, both didn't work).
While I don't prefer to edit the registry, I guess there was no way around not doing so.
Anyways, I edited my registry and both the network share is now accessible and the mapped drive is visible and accessible as well.
