Hi All,

I've just purchased a new Lenovo laptop (running Win7 Home Premium) which has no CD/DVD drive. So, before I buy another Reflect licence I wanted to at least try out the concept of a USB recovery drive.

I followed the instructions in this tutorial....

http://kb.macrium.com/KnowledgebaseArticle50047.aspx?Keywords=+Create+a+bootable+Linux+USB+stick++%09+%09

and it stopped on bootup with a message of 'Wating..", sometime into it accessing the USB drive and starting the Linux environment.

Is this simply a case of I need to create a WinPE environment boot USB instead, since the h/w is too tied up to the O/S?

What size USB stick should I use?

All help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi

Thanks for your post.

We recommend that you create WinPE USB recovery media using v5 of Macrium Reflect. The functionality to create the media is built in to the rescue wizard.

Please see here for your upgrade options:

Kind regards
