Posted - December 03 2015 : 01:29:20 Having used a spare hard drive for my backups,I switched to an external hard drive. Having backed up partitions and a disc image, I want to backup files and folders. 'Source drive C - Destination F:\Macrium' insists on an alternative location, despite 'use the Image Id as the file name' is checked. I'm trying to backup my whole C drive and cannot understand what I can enter as a alternative folder instead of F\Macrium.
Any help would be welcome! |

Posted - December 06 2015 : 20:32:22 I have never experienced this issue so it is hard for me to offer any further help. I have created XML files referencing external USB drives and never had to enter alternate destinations nor did Reflect change my path.

Thanks for your interest. |

Posted - December 05 2015 : 21:21:04 It might be easier to have the external drive connected while you are creating the backup definition file. That should eliminate the error and allow you to specify the destination.
However I am confused by the H:\Macrium does not exist, message.

Posted - December 04 2015 : 23:01:22 I'm trying to make a new definition file for the external drive. The C drive and Reflect are open. I change the destination from F to H and get 'The path H:\Macrium does not exist'. Alternative locations are offered, which do not seem to have any relation to Reflect. If I knew how to attach an image of this window to this entry, I could do that. |

When you are creating the definition file, is the external drive connected to the computer and available to Reflect?
