I know someone that has a cash register that runs Windows. I don't know how to interrupt the register software to get to the operating system. Would it be ok to map a network drive to the register and perform a backup of the network drive?
If the hard drive crashes would I be able to restore to the network drive?
If the hard drive did crash would I be able to use a file backup or would I have to use an image backup?
It's only possible to recover the system by restoring a disk image. Disk images can only be created on local drives so Macrium Reflect must be run on the hardware that is hosting Windows.
