One for Nick I think!

We have a 50 user V4 license for Macrium which works really well. But... we've recently been seeing a problem where scheduled jobs will stop after a period of days and return this error.

The 'status' shows 'Start missed - will be run next time' - but it isn't. Once we get this the scheduler never recovers. I've seen it on a few PCs now..

I think the error code comes from the task scheduler but I can't see a MAcrium job in it... Nothing in the event logs either..

Of course, the PCs are on 24/7.... btw..

Any clues as to where to start looking?

Thanks

David

Hi David

Thanks for your post. Sorry you are having problems.

To view Macrium Reflect scheduled tasks in the Windows Task Scheduler please take the 'Advanced' > 'View Hidden Tasks' menu option in the Windows UI.

Please see this forum topic that relates to error 0x40010004:

http://support.macrium.com/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=4107

The result code may also mean that the task is currently running. Please check for process 'reflect.exe' in task manager.

Please note that support for your licenses has expired and you'll need to upgrade to v5 to receive further support. Please contact us at support (at) macrium.com to arrange this.

Many thanks and kind regards

Thanks Nick.

I'd forgotten about the 'advanced/hidden tasks' and remembered it last night...

A bit more digging revealed that indeed the scheduler was also reporting 'could not start' and trying to execute the task - in the scheduler - by hand also failed to start.

Opening the task job - directly not in macrium - showed the correct 'runas' account and reentering the password in the task scheduler allowed me to execute the vb script by hand.

So it looks like - perhaps - the password was not sticking.. more digging needed!

I also note your point about v4 u//g to v5 - I'd like to do this but suspect the cost for 50 licenses is rather large for a product that still works OK. I confess I didn't realise I'd lost support when the new version came along, so thanks for your help. Can you ask Sales to quote me for 50 off u/d pls?

best wishes

David
