I am having problems setting up a Schedule to backup Daily/Differential to an existing Image. Here is what I have done:
1. Created Full Image Backup of Partitions C: D: E: to Network Drive \\WD-NETCENTER\BACKUP. That drive is Mapped as Z:. In Z:, I have the backup folder as Z:\Backup\(imagename).
2. The full backup completes successfully. I can Browse the image in Windows Explorer, do manual "copy" etc. It is there. It is setup as "Daily Backup.xml.job"
3. I can do a Diff File Backup (Run Now) to this image as well, selecting Z:\Backup as the destination directory.
4. When I attempt to "Schedule" the same kind of Diff Backup, it schedules OK, but when it runs, it errors out with "Unable to Locate Backup to Append to". Also, If I select "Calculate" for Total Number of files or Total Size, I get the same error.
I am sure it is some sort of setup issue I am just missing.
Any ideas
Thank you.

Hi
I'm wondering whether this is a password issue with your network share. If you select 'Other Tasks' -> 'Defaults' -> 'Network' -> 'Logon' you can enter a username and password for your shares.
If this is not the problem could you email the XML file to suport@macrium.com and I'll look into this further. Right click in the XML view and select 'View Source', you can then save this file and attach it to an email.
Hope this helps

Hi
Thanks for that information.
It seems there is a problem with the mapping to your network drive. It is not being translated to the UNC path as it should.
Could you please re-try to create the incremental XML but this time browse for folders and use the actual nework path. Expand 'My Network Places' until you find the share. OR you could just modify your current XML file and replace 'z:' with '\\WD-NETCENTER'.
Hope this helps

Nick,
Thanks for your assistance with this! You pointed out it was a probably a network mapping issue, and indeed it was. For some weird reason, "ghost mapping" allowed me to create the original full image and manual diff backups, but not through the "scheduled" backup.
Redid the mapping through Net-Center and now it works flawlessly.
Great support, great product!
