6. Next step, create Emergency Recovery Disk.
First try with an Emtec CD-R. It booted, but got stuck in the wizard. Coaster.
Buy some reliable CD-RWs and retry.
Tried with Maxell CD-RW. Same error.
After booting I get an error message saying, roughly, "Resource structure does not have an end tag", followed by about three other error messages.

I do not yet have an image file, but surely the wizard should discover that

Hi

Can you please help us by clarifying the problem(s) you are having:

1: 'Stuck in the Wizard' - Which Page?
2: 'After booting...' - Is this in the wizard? Is this the same problem as 1?

Could you please let us know your complete system configuration including mouse and keyboard type.

Thanks.

Hi

It looks like you may have a USB (or Fire Wire) device attached that is not compatible with Linux.

I have used the Rescue CD on about 10 different PCs and Notebooks without problems. Perhaps you could check the CD on a different PC to see if your PC is problem.

I also have problems with the rescure CD. It is very aggrevating when you just completed a disk image with 6 CD-Rs and come to find out you can't make a rescue cd. Mine stops after the Linux line.
I have a Dell optiplex 745.

Usually stopping directly after the "Loading Linux..." line indicates a faulty CD.

CD-R's are a lot more reliable at booting than CD-RW's.

Could you try burning a new CD?

Reflect v3.0.1730 now includes a Windows PE 2.0 (Vista) based recovery CD. Please note that due to licensing restrictions this CD is only available to registered users of Reflect.
