Hello,

I was wondering if this matter ever got resolved. I have the same problem.

I made a basic backup of my C-drive to my D-drive and I'm now trying to restore it and I have the same problem. I never had issues like this with other software (Acronis, PowerQuest, ...). I bought this software by recommendation of Tucows but am very dissapointed to this point.

Can you please try to resolve this issue?

Give me a strict procedure to follow.

I appreciate.
Thank you & Happy New Year

Hi

Sorry that you are having problems with Reflect.

Could you please give me a bit more information?

1. What OS are you using (Vista or XP)?
2. What is the size of the new disk?
3. What is the size of your original disk.?
4. How is your disk partitioned? (You mentioned drive D: is this a separate disk?)

Please note: The previous poster was trying to restore to a disk with half the capacity. No disk imaging software can accomplish this.

If you are using Vista:

1. Right click on My Computer and Select 'Manage'
2. Select 'Disk Management' in the tree
3. Right click on 'Drive C' and select 'Shrink Volume'
4. Shrink the volume so that it will fit on your new disk.
5. Re-Image the drive and restore

Note: If you cannot shrink to the size of your new disk then what you are attempting is impossible.

Hope this helps. Kind Regards

Futher to my previous post:

If you are using Vista then shrink the volume to smaller than the target disk . You can then expand it when restoring to ensure it fills your new disk. Doing this will ensure that your restore will always work.
