Hi!
I tried to boot my ney notebook (Samsung RV511) from the WinPE-cd. The start screen appears and the prograss bar runs up to 100%. Then the screen turns to black ans thats it. No more acitivity from the cd-drive and thats it.
I've created the cd on another pc but this shouldn't be a problem. |

Does the Boot CD work on the P.C. that created it ?
Are the two P.C.s identical in every respect, both in hardware and operating system ?

Yes.

No, they are different. The pc I've creatd the cd on is an amd 64 x2 with windows 7 (32-bit). The notebook has an intel core i3 processor and is running under win7 (64bit).
But a standard boot-cd should start on different hardware I think. Both are standard x86-pcs without any special hardware like raid-controllers or something else.
Does the macrium WinPE-cd only work on the pc it is created on? |

I only wanted you to clarify so the experts would have a better idea of the situation.
I am not an expert but I guess reaching 100% shows the CD is quite good, but either there is a bit wrong in the CD or an incompatibility with your hardware.
I do not understand. Does the CD work on the other P.C. I once had a failure because somehow a 3 MB component was omitted from my CD.
I did find that a Boot CD created for my 32 bit XP Laptop with IDE and USB2 would plug straight into my 64 bit Windows 7 Desktop with SATA and restore from an eSATA image file, so there is hope.
Regards Alan
