I currently have all personal data on a separate partition where I do F&F backups as well as image backups. I would like to shrink that partition and create another so that I can isolate large chunks of static data and can take advantage of a different backup strategy, which will result in much smaller backup sets.
Will doing so invalidate my existing image files?
Will doing so invalidate my existing batch processes?
Regarding any new batch processes that I need to create: Currently, my Task Scheduler UI (and Event Viewer UI) is busted (I suspect some weirdo .net installation problem that I am procrastinating resolving). The existing Macrium tasks work just fine, but I won't have a UI to view or tweak any new tasks that get created. I do recall that in the past I needed the Task Scheduler UI for something macrium-related. Without being able to look at them via TS, I can't recall the details. Do you know of any reason that new tasks may require any Windows7 Task Scheduler UI intervention?

Thanks for posting, my apologies for the delay in replying.
If you modify the position or size of partitions then you will need to start new backup sets. Macrium Reflect will use the position and size of partitions as part of its incremental process when comparing to previous image files.
When manipulating the partitions, should you change drive letter assignments then you will need to review the XML definition files to ensure you are imaging/backing up from the correct volumes and where resulting files are stored.
You should have no issue creating Windows 7 based tasks and viewing them in Macrium Reflect. There are further options available when using the Task Scheduler UI which you can use to further refine the task, when and how it is launched for instance. We would recommend getting in touch with Microsoft Support to resolve thia particular issue.

The existing drive letter will stay the same. Of course I will create new scripts for the newly created drive.
So is that a "yes" to both my questions?
If so, then I have a third question. What about the existing F&F backups I have of the existing drive? Will they continue to be valid after shrinkage?
By this:

Are you saying the Macrium task builder does not include when and how it is launched? |

Thanks for getting back to us.
Yes to both of your questions.
Your File and Folder backups should continue to function as normal, as long as the source and destination volume letters remain the same.
The Macrium Reflect task scheduling process has options for when the backup is started, the frequency and whether to start at next run if missed. The Microsoft Task Scheduler UI has further options over and above Macrium Reflect for how the backup could be launched, for example based on triggers or events, please see the following Microsoft article for information:
