I'm afraid in order to support RAID controlers you need to use the Windows PE rescue disc. If Windows PE doesn't natively recognise your RAID controller drivers can be loaded by opening the command window and entering 'drvload <path to inf file>'. The Windows PE rescue disc is only available in the licensed version of Reflect 4.1.

Thanks for replying so quickly.
But I don't have RAID. Why might it think I do? It's just a home PC running XP home edition.
I did put in a second hard drive which I tried disconnecting to see if it made any difference, but it didn't. But could it be to do with having two drives on the same ribbon?
I don't think that using the windows rescue disc would make any difference because looking in System Properties / Device Manager I can't find any evidence that the computer thinks it might have raid or that there are any raid drivers for it to load.
(I noticed further up that it also loads (or tries to load) something to do with SCSI.)
Might it be possible just to stop it trying to load anything to do with raid at all?
Hmm... Possibly your motherboard has RAID built in or you have a RAID card that your no connected to. Removing the card may resolve this issue. The Windows PE rescue disk should boot OK as it uses the same operating system as Vista.
