I’m using a trial version of Reflect with XP Pro.
My recovery CD boots into Linux 26, and initrd.bin starts. But no menu appears, so the disc in effect fails.
I’ve tried about 4 times with the same result. I’ve even shut down ZoneAlarm.
There are 7 files in the CD's isolinux directory, total 11.7 mbs. The menu file is only 1 byte.
The rest of Reflect is easy to use, and I’d like to buy it. But only if I can create a good recovery disc.
I’ve had no problem creating general recovery discs with Linux eg Bart rescue etc. All take me to a menu, and work well.

I’ve since tested the Linux disc on another machine, where it worked perfectly. Apparently a CD/DVD drive can fail to read a disc but another drive may have no problems.
I then bought the full version, but my drive failed to read the Windows rescue disc, although it worked on my back-up machine.
I therefore emailed Macrium support at 16:00 on Friday, asking for advice. It arrived within 30 minutes.
The next I heard was at 19:21 on _Saturday_, when Nick emailed me setting out a quick and easy fix, even though the fault (ie in my machine) had nothing to do with the program.
Have you ever received program support with a low-cost program at the weekend? I can’t remember any company being as helpful. And remember, the fault was definitely in the hardware, not the program. Most other software companies would not want to get involved.
Well done Nick, and many thanks!
