I'm evaluating Trial version 4.1.1915. I've managed to create a backup of my system HD - storing the image on a (separate) data HD. Both these drives are SATA. All very straightforward, quick and impressive. I've created the linux rescue CD (v1.1.137) and this boots OK. The trouble is no drives (including the boot DVD) are detected to browse for the backup image, nor can I apply an IP address to browse my LAN. Requesting one via DHCP fails, as does setting it manually. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi

It looks like your BIOS isn't providing the information Linux needs.

I can only suggest that you have a look into your BIOS sttings in case there is any obvious trap. Perhaps a BIOS level virus checker?

Failing that, I'm afraid the only option is to use the Windows PE rescue CD that is available with the registered version of Reflect.

Hope this helps

I had exactly the same problem but was able to solve it - for the local drive at least - by changing the HDD description in the BIOS from NATIVE to LEGACY. I don't know what process that then allowed to happen but when I tried again certainly all the local hard disks were showing.

At the time the ethernet cable happened to be unplugged so I don't know whether or not making that change would have affected what was showing across the network. Presumably not I would have thought but I don't know.
