1. Did the image boot?
2. If it booted, did it see your image file?
3. Did you try both the Linux and the Windows PE image?
The Windows PE image is a Microsoft Vista Image not ours. It is the same image that is used to load windows onto every PC. Can you give some more clarity as to what 'Didn't work'.

Yes I tried both. I first tried the Linux and nothing happened so I mad a Windows PE and made a complete image of my hard drive again and when I put a new hard drive in and tried it the boot CD did work and it dose see the image but It will not restore.

Thank you for providing more detailed information. When you say it "will not restore",
1. Does it complete the restore and then not boot afterwards?
2. Does it get some way through the restore then stop?
3. Does it hang at some stage during the restore?
4. Does it tell you that your image is corrupt?
5. Where is your image located? On another DVD, On another disk, On a network drive?

Yes it completes with no problems.
2. Does it get some way through the restore then stop?
It will not even start.
3. Does it hang at some stage during the restore?
No hang ups. Just will not restore.
4. Does it tell you that your image is corrupt?
NO
5. Where is you image located? On another DVD, On another disk, On a network drive?
The image is on a DVD. I do see the image.

I miss understood this one. No it never restores. I thought you want to know I the backup image was complete.

So what happens?
You select the image from the restore option. Then....
Does your PC hang?
Does your PC reboot?
Does the restore finish immediately?
You probably know this already but....If an image sapans more than one DVD then you must insert the last disk first. You will then be prompted locate other image files / disks as required. |

This is what I get:
I start up the computer with a new hard drive (formatted) It goes thought the boot up just fine. (Windows is loading files)
Then I get Keyboard option. I selected US and next.
Then I get Accept the user licenses agreement.
Then it loads Reflect 1.1
Then I have 7 options:
1 - Start the reflect restore wizard.
2 - Explore an Image
3 – Windows PE Explorer
4 – Command Windows
5 – Network Window
6 – Fix Boot Problems
7 – Restart your PC.
I selected 1 – restore Wizard.
Then I remove the boot CD and put in the DVD with the Hard Drive image and click next. (After trying 3 or 4 times)Only 1 DVD.
It reads the DVD and I see 1-Hard Drive C:
I click next and see the same and check the box and click on next. And again I see the same thing and check the box and I do not get the next option.
So then I shut down and hook up my old hard drive.

I start up Reflect and explore the image on the DVD and all the files are there that I created.
Well it's late here. I have to get up early to go to work. I'll check back tomorrow.

Hi
It seems like you are trying to restore to a location that is smaller than the partition you imaged.
The first Wizard screen is where you select the image to be restored. In your case it was your DVD drive:
The next screen is where you select the drive from the image you are restoring. In your case it was drive C:
Note the partition backed up here is 32.164GB
The next screen is where you select the partition(s) to overwrite and restore the imaged partition: In your case it was your new disk (Drive C:)
In this example the selelected destistation is only 13.988GB so the 'Next' button is disabled. You can only proceed if you have selected enough space for the image to be restored to.
This is repeat of the previous screen showing multiple partitions on the one disk selected. Note the 'Next' button is now available because we have selected more than 32GB. Multiple partitions can be selected by holding down the 'Ctrl' key whilst clicking.
Basicaly, you must select enough space for the imaged partition to restore to. Use the left mouse button whilst holding the Ctrl key down if there is more than one check box for the drive. If the target disk is smaller, even by a few MB, than the source partition then you cannot restore.
I hope that this gives some explanation as to why you couldn't complete the restore wizard.

Please look at your pictures:
You are trying to restore 149GB to 74GB.
This is impossible. Your new drive is smaller than your old one!

OK, so I need a hard drive as big as the one I'm backing up to an image?
So if I image a hard drive that is 80GB I can restore it to a 80GB or bigger. But I can not do it the other way? So in order to see if it works I have to buy a new 160GB hard drive.
Well I guess I'll never find out if it works.
I don't understand it. Im only backing up less the 7GB. The 80GB is bigger then the 7GB of info.
